The connector test generally involves the following items: insertion force test, durability test, insulation resistance test, withstand voltage test, vibration test, mechanical impact test, hot and cold impact test, mixed gas corrosion test
Connector specific test items are as follows:
(A) insertion force test
Reference standard: EIA-364-13
Purpose: Verify that the insertion force of the connector complies with the product specifications
Principle: the connector at a specified rate of complete insertion or removal, record the corresponding force value
(2) durability test
Reference standard: EIA-364-09
Objective: To evaluate the effect of repeated insertion and tear on the connector, to simulate the actual use of the connector in the plug
Principle: According to the required rate of continuous connection of the connector until the required number of times.
(C) insulation resistance test
Reference standard: EIA-364-21
Purpose: To verify that the insulation performance of the connector conforms to the requirements of the circuit design or subjected to environmental stress such as high temperature and humidity, whether the resistance meets the relevant technical conditions.
Principle: Apply a voltage to the insulating part of the connector so that the leakage current is generated on the surface or inside of the insulating part.
The same time as the above-
(D) withstand voltage test
Reference standard: EIA-364-20
Purpose: To verify that the connector is able to operate safely at rated voltage and to withstand the ability to withstand potentials to assess the suitability of the connector insulation or insulation gap: Between the connector contacts and the contacts, Apply a specified voltage between the shell and maintain a specified time to observe whether the sample breakdown or discharge phenomenon.
(5) contact resistance test
Reference standard: EIA-364-06 / EIA-364-23
Purpose: To verify the resistance of the current flowing through the contact surface of the contact. Principle: By setting the current through the connector, measure the voltage drop across the connector to derive the resistance
(6) vibration test:
Reference standard: EIA-364-28
Purpose: To verify the effect of vibration on the performance of electrical connectors and their components
Vibration type: random vibration, sinusoidal vibration
(7) mechanical impact test
Reference standard: EIA-364-27
Purpose: To verify the ability of the connector and its components to withstand impact or to determine whether the structure is secure
Test waveform: half sine wave, square wave
(8) hot and cold impact test
Reference standard: EIA-364-32
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of the connector on its functional quality under rapid temperature variation
(Nine) temperature and humidity combined cycle test
Reference standard: EIA-364-31
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of the connector on the performance of the connector after storage in a high temperature and high humidity environment
(10) high temperature test
Reference standard: EIA-364-17
Purpose: To assess whether the performance of the terminals and insulators changes after a specified period of time in a high temperature environment
(Eleven) salt spray test
Reference standard: EIA-364-26
Objective: To evaluate the corrosion resistance of connectors, terminals and coatings
(12) mixed gas corrosion test
Reference standard: EIA-364-65
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the corrosion resistance of connectors exposed to different concentrations of mixed gases and their effects
(13) wire swing test
Reference standard: EIA-364-41
